Tom Brady: the altercation of Moss is "certainly not" tru

October 19th, 2010 at 05:03 am

While interviewed on the Boston sports radio station WEEI, Tom Brady, the New England Patriots quarterback who always wear Authentic NFL jerseys while he on the sports ground told about the altercation between him and former teammate Randy Moss.
So did it happen, Tom? "No, certainly not," Brady said.  "I don't know why these things come about, but they do.  I just think there's a competitive media culture.  I love [Moss] as a person and a player.  I don't think I ever had an altercation with a teammate. . . .  I don't think I've seen any players in our locker room fight."We were willing to accept Brady's words at face value until he addressed whether he was consulted regarding the trade that sent Moss to Minnesota."Certainly not," Brady said.  "I'm a player on this team.  I'm just like all the other players." We realize that Peter King is on record as reporting that the incident didn't happen, so we're treading lightly on the keyboard with this one.  Indeed, one of the two "highly-placed sources" within the Patriots organization who said the incident didn't happen flatly tell Peter that “someone is lying to CBS."
Why wouldn't the quarterback of the team be consulted on such a key move?  Isn't he consulted on other strategic issues affecting the offense?  The idea that he wasn't even consulted makes the move seem reckless.  And the Patriots aren't reckless. But here's the thing.  As to whether Brady was consulted about trading Moss, it's my opinion that Brady was lying to WEEI and its audience, based on the fact that the notion he wasn't even consulted defies logic and common sense.  So when someone seems to be not telling the truth on one key point, it's very hard to accept their word at face value on another key point.Besides, we rarely accept at face value anything that any NFL coach or player who wears Authentic NFL jerseys says on a controversial issue, if the truth will potentially harm the image and/or interests of the team. And then there's the possibility that, of all people, Coach Bill Belichick was technically being truthful when he said Monday, "That's news to me."  Just four word that is enough to deny Casserly's report. While you wear Authentic NFL jerseys that are also enough to confirm that you are a NFL fan.
